New Vision Television Congratulates KOIN For Winning Multiple Oregon Associated Press Broadcast Association Awards

[Los Angeles - New Vision Television] New Vision Television congratulates its Portland Oregon CBS affiliate KOIN for winning numerous awards from the Oregon Associated Press Broadcast Association.

KOIN was honored at the 2009 OAPBA Awards for the following awards:

  • The KOIN team was honored in the Associated Press "Continuing Coverage" category for "What Happened to Heather?" an ongoing story about the still unsolved disappearance of a young mother. Her husband is a person of interest and part of the coverage included an exclusive, compelling interview with him.
  • KOIN photojournalist Bill Cortez captured a first place award for photojournalism with an entry about a dying man's last wish.
  • KOINs Traffic Anchor Carly Kennelly won first place in the Associated Press awards in the Best Traffic Anchor category
