Dawson Steps In for Al Buch, Who is Retiring after 20 Years as General Manager

Los Angeles CA – October 20, 2009 – New Vision Television has named John Dawson    President and General Manager of KSNW and the Kansas State Network stations based in Wichita, Kansas. The NBC affiliated stations have been managed for over 20 years by Al Buch, who is retiring at the end of 2009.

New Vision President and CEO Jason Elkin said Dawson and Buch will work together for the rest of the year to insure a smooth transition. “We’re fortunate to have these pros on the New Vision team. Our employees and our Kansas viewers are well served.”

Dawson most recently was president of his own management consulting firm in Indianapolis where his clients included New Vision Television. Dawson was President and General Manager of WISE-TV, Ft Wayne, Indiana

His previous television general management positions include Indianapolis and Ft. Wayne, IN and Birmingham, AL. Earlier in his career he held several sales management positions, beginning in Birmingham where he was a reporter and News Director.

Buch, who has managed the Kansas Stations for six different owners, is celebrating 50 years in the TV business this Fall. He said, “I think it’s time to share the fun!”

Prior to coming to Kansas Buch held news director positions in several markets including WTVJ in Miami and KPNX in Phoenix.
