New Vision's KSNW and KSNT Television Stations Win Awards from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters

[Los Angeles CA - October 19, 2009] - New Vision Television announced today its two Kansas stations, KSNW in Wichita and KSNT in Topeka, both received prominent recognition from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters. KSNW's program, KSN News @ 10, was awarded first place for prime time newscast, and KSNW's SRS Investigation series won top honors for In-Depth News Reporting. KSNT was awarded first place for its Special Program, "Tornado Warning," and KSNT's website was honored as the best station website. New Vision, with headquarters in Los Angeles CA and Atlanta GA, owns or provides services to 14 major network-affiliated television stations across the United States.

"We are proud of the people of KSNT and KSNW who made these awards possible," said Jason Elkin, New Vision's founder and Chief Executive Officer. "New Vision has always been committed to hyper-local coverage, and we are determined to continue our investments in the best local news programming anywhere in the industry. Congratulations to both KSNT and KSNW for jobs well done."

"More than 60 percent of Americans regard television as their primary source of news," said Al Buch, general manager of KSNW. "It is up to local broadcasters to ensure that we provide local news programming that meets the high expectations of our viewers. Our KSN News @ 10 - with Stephanie Bergmann and John Snyder - was deservedly recognized as the top prime time newscast in our state. And our investigative team led by Dana Hertneky and Brandon Mowry continues to do outstanding work on behalf of our local community. We all thank the Kansas Association of Broadcasters for recognizing KSNW's work."

KSN News @10 was honored for its broadcast on the evening that Dr. George Tiller was gunned down while serving as an usher at his local church - a story that quickly make national headlines. KSNW's SRS Investigation team won for its report on the practices of the local district attorney in child welfare cases. The SRS Investigation team interviewed a former social worker, who explained how she was bullied by the district attorney's office into steering cases in the direction the districted attorney wanted the cases to go. KSNT.com won 1st place in the first-ever Kansas Association of Broadcasters' "Station Website" category. Judging was based on content, innovation, visual appeal, ease of navigation and interactivity that engages the audience. "This was definitely a team effort," Jean Turnbough, KNST's President & General Manager, said. "Everyone has taken ownership in making our website the best in the market."

KSNT's 27 News First Warning Weather special Tornado Warning also won 1st place under the "Special Program" category along with Tom Hagen: All About the Weather under the "Station Promotion Campaign" category. 27 News KSNT also received several 2nd and 3rd place awards.
