New Vision Congratulates WIAT CBS-42 for Winning A Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Documentary
WIAT CBS-42 Wins the Prestigious Murrow Award for Best Documentary
[Los Angeles, CA – April 10, 2010] – New Vision Television is proud to announce that WIAT – CBS-42 has been honored as the recipient of a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for best documentary, “Poison in the Air.” The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) bestows the honor to deserving television stations that have exemplified the pursuit of excellence in journalism.
“Poison in the Air,” already named Best Documentary by the Alabama Broadcasters Association and the Associated Press, is an investigation into Birmingham’s poor air quality and the effect on those who live in the area.
The investigative report is now eligible for a national Murrow Award, considered the country's top broadcast journalism accolade.
“Many newsrooms never have a chance to receive a Murrow Award and this is something our entire team can be proud of,” said Bill Payer, News Director of CBS 42.
