KSN Adds Newscasts and Staff

KSN, Channel 3, today announced it is adding a half hour to its weekday morning show effective January 9. Mark Davidson and meteorologist Leon Smitherman will provide 2 1⁄2 hours of local news and weather each day.
Also in January, KSN will begin airing a Sunday newscast at 5pm with news anchor Aileen Simborio and meteorologist Mark Bogner. These changes occur as KSN launches “Fox Kansas News at 9” January 2 for KSAS-TV. In total KSN will be producing seven additional hours of news each week and expanding it’s on air news content by 30%.

“It’s an exciting time to be at KSN. These changes brought the need to grow our staff” said KSN President and General Manager John Dawson. “In a time when many companies continue to have cutbacks, we have the fortunate opportunity to make improvements, add personnel and provide more news content. These changes will give viewers more choices with timelier newscasts and more information.”
KSN welcomes two new faces to the news team. Katie Taube will be the main anchor for KSAS’s “Fox News at 9.” Taube comes to us from KSFY in Sioux Falls, SD and has previously worked in the Quad Cities. Mary-Rachel Redman has joined KSN as the weekend Sports Anchor. Redman is a “sports junkie” with broadcast experience from KOCO in Oklahoma City and the Big Ten Network. She joins Leon Liebl who was recently promoted to Sports Director.

KSN is owned by New Vision Television with corporate offices in Atlanta and Los Angeles.
