New Vision Television of Youngstown, operators of WYTV, the ABC affiliate in Youngstown, Ohio, is pleased and proud to announce that the Ohio House of Representatives passed a resolution honoring WYTV for its 2011 Regional Edward R. Murrow award.
The Edward R. Murrow was awarded to reporter Peggy Sinkovich and videographer Nick Rich under the continuing coverage category for their reporting on excessive police force used on a disabled man.
The official resolution was sponsored by State Representatives Sean O’Brien and Tom Letson, and adopted by the full House of Representatives of Ohio on October 21, 2011.
In part, the resolution reads: WHEREAS, Over the years, WYTV has provided comprehensive coverage of current events at the local, state, national and international levels, while maintaining the flexibility necessary to meet the changing needs and interests of area viewers. Entertaining, educational, and informative, this exceptional station has earned the loyalty of a large and ever-increasing audience, and has certainly distinguished itself as one of Ohio’s finest television stations.
NVT Youngstown joins the 129th General Assembly of Ohio in congratulating Ms. Sinkovich and Mr.Rich.
