WIAT – TV, CBS 42 is honored to be the recipient of eight Edward R. Murrow awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association, including Best Newscast and Overall Excellence. CBS 42 competed with television stations in four states winning eight of the ten awards.
The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) bestows the honor to deserving television stations which have exemplified the pursuit of excellence in journalism. CBS 42 received the following honors:

• Best Newscast
• Best Breaking News Coverage: April Tornado Coverage
• Best Continuing Coverage: April Tornado Coverage
• Best Investigative Reporting: “Deadly Deception”
• Best News Series: “Concussion Awareness: Protecting Young Minds”
• Best Reporting Hard News: “A Personal Storm”
• Best Feature Reporting: “Womack Vs. Wilder “

The Edward R. Murrow Awards will be added to a long list of accolades won by CBS 42 this year including five Associated Press Awards, three Alabama Broadcasters Association Awards including Television Station of the Year.
