KIMT News 3 Recognized for Best Small Market Newscast
Four first-place honors among 13 total given to KIMT by IBNA.
[Mason City, IA – May 12, 2010] – KIMT News 3’s tradition of award-winning newscasts continues.
The station is being honored by the Iowa Broadcast News Association for having the Best Small Market Newscast in 2009.
“We are greatly honored by this award,” News Director Greg Berry said. “This was a complete team effort and is more gratifying knowing the entire newsroom was involved.”
Honorees were recognized at the IBNA’s annual convention May 1, 2010 in Cedar Rapids for their work during the 2009 calendar year. Winners are selected by peer Broadcast News Associations throughout the country.
Overall, the KIMT news staff was honored with a total of 13 awards – the most-ever and most the IBNA has awarded to a single station in more than a decade.
Fourteen stations are eligible for awards in the Small Market division as well cable outlets throughout the state.
